Before BMW made cars, BMW made engines. The Bavarian company wouldn't be where they are without perfecting what's at the heart of every vehicle they build: their engines. BMW has built and experimented with nearly every engine configuration imaginable from 3-cylinders to monstrous V12s and V16s. Here are a few of the finest and also, might I add, some of the most beautifully crafted engines I had ever seen come out of any company.
