Porsche has built an incredible racing pedigree over the years which has led it to become the biggest race car manufacturer in the industry today. Despite being involved in motorsports as early as the 50s, Porsche race cars did not achieve stardom until the 1970s when the their 917 race car proved to be a winner at Le Mans. From there the company built a variety of racing cars, from the 935 to the modern 911 GT1, many of which placed top in the most renown of racing events.
